Rumor has it that a new gnome door has revealed itself in Gnome Valley USA (Cashmere, Washington, to you humans, that is). This door, unlike all the other gnome doors is located in a residential neighborhood! On a residential street! Can you find it? Who are the gnomes who revealed the door? Does it lead to a business or a home? Oh! The adventures we'll have finding out who our gnewest gnome gneighbor are!
A new door - or should I say two or three? - revealed itself in Cashmere over the holidays. This one is located in the fine human establishment called Weeds. It's run by my dear gnome friend Alfred, who has had a fascination and friendship with chipmunks (all shapes and sizes, of course) for years. Alfred is the first gnome in Gnome Valley USA to use gnome elevator technology and I guess he was so proud of it, he decided to reveal his elevator doors, as well as his little cafe, for all the humans to see. I hope they enjoy it!
Our Gnome Door Reveal Committee revealed three new doors this weekend! Check them out! Gnome Riverside Center, Gnome Link Transit Cashmere Station (Cottage Avenue Park) and Troll's Gully (Mission District).
Milly Jensson here. In case you don't gnow me, my family runs Gnome Valley Bank...which you can read about here:
But that's not why I'm writing. I'm writing because Neva, predictably, ran off on some whitewater adventure and left her blog and chairmanship of the Gnome Reveal Door Committee to languish...just when things were getting stressful. Just between you and me, sometimes I get VERY tired of always being the one to pick up the pieces when Neva gets a wild hair and runs off on her crazy adventures. Who does she think she is?? A superstar or something??? Hrumph..
ANYWAY, we've had LOTS going on here in Gnome Valley. It's been quite distressful. Too distressful to tell about in a short blog. To gnow more, you can click on my full report:
Over and Out,
Milly (Neva's stand in....again!)
My big sister is at it again. I'm not quite sure why or how, but she managed to get her two cents in on telling the story of me. If she weren't such a good big sister, I'd be really, really mad about the stuff she said. But she's a good big sis, so I guess I'll suffer in silence....(except to say this: I AM MUCH more tidy than she is). Read what she has to say about me:
See our newest door in the lobby of the Mission District! Royal Gnome Cellars has joined the growing number of gnome businesses who are taking the bold and exciting step to reveal themselves to humans. Support our local vintner who serves not only wine but also favorite gnome drinks from Scandinavia!
An inquiring human:
"If gnomes are real, then are fairies real?"
A worldly gnome:
"Well, of course. All living creatures are real, silly!"
"Then how come I don't see them?
"The fairies or the gnomes?"
"Well, you don't see fairies because there aren't many around here anymore. They mostly moved to Hollywood (and various Disney locations throughout the world). You don't see gnomes because they sleep at night, are careful to blend in and - probably the biggest reason - humans just don't stay still long enough or look carefully enough to see them.
"Oh. I thought it was because they could make themselves invisible."
"Well, that too."
For more details on why the fairies all moved to Hollywood, read:
I am Neva Zella Whipple Fairhair, IX. I am the great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great granddaughter of the first gnome king of Norway. I live in Gnome Valley USA (which to humans is called Cashmere, WA)
